IRVINE, Calif. -- Late on Saturday evening, five Northern Colorado track & field student-athletes ran at the UC Irvine Invitational and improved their times tremendously.

Sophomore Colleen Sanderlin finished 10th overall in the 5000 meters with a time of 18:00.72, while Kellie Callahan was 14th after clocking a 18:13.01. Both times qualify them for the 10,000 meters at the Big Sky Conference Championship. Sanderlin also shaved almost 55 seconds off her previous best time, while Callahan improved by almost 51 seconds.

Denise Kintzley finished the race in 16th place with a time of 18:34.62 and Erin Apsey crossed the tape in 19:10.27.

On the men's side, freshman Daniel Sojka finished 17th overall in the 5000 meters with his time of 15:39.38 to cut his previous time by over one minute.
