AKRON, Ohio -- At the University National Freestyle and Greco-Roman Nationals, redshirt freshman Lance Gallegos and sophomore Tony Mustari both earned All-American honors for Northern Colorado.

 

Gallegos, Mustari and freshman Casey Cruz all competed at the prestigious event that features some of the best college and Olympic level wrestlers from across the United States.

 

Gallegos was the lone Bear entered in the Greco-Roman portion and he finished fifth for All-American status. All three competed in the Freestyle tournament with Mustari earning All-American honors after a fifth-place finish at 121-pounds. Cruz went 2-2 at 138.5 pounds and Gallegos finished 2-2 at 145.5 pounds.

 

Gallegos and Mustari both have qualified for the University World Team Trials, which will be held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, May 18-24.
